soda-fired cobalt tea bowl

This cobalt blue tea bowl actually fell into the coal bed during the 40-hour soda firing, but an extra bake in the gas kiln fluxed the ash into some beautiful greys and blues. Firing it on its side left impressions of seashells for even more added interest, but the form is warped enough to warrant a discount.
